Cheeses
Greece and Cyprus are known for their delicious cheeses. Sheep’s and goat’s milk is traditionally used in cheese production, in addition to cow’s milk.
The most famous cheese in Cyprus is halloumi, which can be fried, cooked, or grilled – or enjoyed as such. Anari, a mild ricotta-type cheese, tastes great with cinnamon, honey, or jam. Anari is also well suited for baking and desserts.
Greek feta with a protected designation of origin has gained great popularity around the world. Other well-known Greek cheeses are lefkotiri, kefalotiri and graviera.
